Who am I?

Who am I?

Clement

AKA JUG_PHOTO

Wildlife Photographer

My name is Clément Jugand, and I am 29 years old. My passion for photography was born three years ago in Quebec during a memorable encounter with a majestic moose in the boreal forest. This moment deeply moved me and awakened in me a desire to connect with living things through images.

Self-taught, I learned photography in the field, experimenting, observing, and confronting the unexpected. Through my images, I try to convey the beauty of this quiet world and remind people that nature deserves respect. I hope to invite those who see them to slow down, reconnect with what is essential, and feel a sense of wonder.

A passion born by chance

With a background in agricultural engineering, nothing prepared me for photography, let alone wildlife photography.

After several years working for a major agri-food company in Canada, I decided to leave it all behind in 2023 to return to France and devote myself to entrepreneurship, driven by a desire to promote a more sustainable, healthier, and plant-based diet.

I then founded my brand NUTRI-GRAINES in 2025 and launched my online store, offering raw, healthy, 100% French-made foods aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of our diet. This alone accounts for nearly 25% of an individual's total carbon footprint in France!

Alongside this, I have always been passionate about photography, and in 2025 I went on a road trip through northern Quebec in the middle of winter. A defining experience that rekindled my passion for photography and wide-open spaces!

Photographer, but an explorer above all!

I consider myself an explorer photographer. What I love is venturing into isolated territories, far from human bustle, where extreme weather conditions test both man and equipment. These harsh environments, where snow, cold, and silence blend together, allow me to get as close as possible to the wild.

What deeply attracts me, even though I cannot truly explain it, is photography in cold, polar environments. There is something powerful about the harshness of winter: the snow that erases your landmarks, the wind that slaps your face, the storm that swallows everything around you. In these hostile conditions, where man is no longer at ease, nature, however, continues. I am always amazed to discover a discreet but very present animal life: a moose moving through the blizzard, a fox looking for its meal under the snow, a lynx stalking its prey in the icy silence, a group of caribou resting on a frozen lake… There is, in this resistance of life against the elements, a raw beauty that deeply touches me.

Dreams for tomorrow

My goal today is to continue exploring these cold regions and to expand my field of work to other northern territories such as Greenland, Svalbard, and Iceland. For me, this work is as much a personal adventure as it is a way to raise awareness about the beauty and fragility of the wilderness.
